Our story

Northwind Coffee Co. began in 2014 in a converted garage in Portland, Oregon. Founders Maya Chen and Diego Alvarez wanted to bridge the gap between specialty coffee drinkers and the farmers behind every cup.

Twelve years later, we operate three cafés, ship beans to forty US states, and partner with seven cooperatives across three continents. Our roastmaster Sam still cups every lot before it hits the shelves.
